Generous Local Garden Group Donates to our Community Garden

The Country Gardeners Club of Salinas, a local group whose members have been friends—and students and staff members— of Salinas Adult School for many years, recently provided some donations support for our Community Garden program.

Our Garden is located on the school grounds and is the site of many classes for children, their parents and adult students from ESL, disabled classes, and Education Skills Department. Robin Shick, our resident garden instructor and project specialist, informs us that the club donated

  • several pairs of pruners
  • seeds
  • used garden tools in good condition
  • a rain gauge
  • a $50 gift certification to Home Depot and
  • a $50 gift certification to OSH.
Shown at left, these good friends gathered in the Garden to present their generous presents and see the Garden in the Fall. A special thanks goes out to them for their kindness.

Also shown at left, math in the Garden! How many inches is that young leaf? Special thanks to all our friends, teachers and staff who make our Garden such a dynamic center for project-based learning.
